For the list of Charms spells in AO Canon, see Spells.
Charms is one of the core classes held at Hogwarts and focuses primarily on enchantment. It can be considered the most "whimsical" of the spell courses and is usually the one young witches and wizards can pick up quickly.
The term 'charm' is fairly ubiquitous - as, unlike Curses or Jinxes or even Summons, it is kind of a catchall term. This leads to much overlap between the spell courses, as DADA courses use Charms in their defensive practices and Transfiguration students use Charms to dispel their transformation spells.
Classroom
The Charms classroom is large and wood-paneled. Located on the castle's Third Floor, it has a massive vaulted ceiling and a broad spread of windows behind the teacher's podium. The desks are in fact two long rows of tiered pews, leaving a large spell practice area in the center of the room.
Hanging from the ceiling is a large, stuffed Hungarian Horntail dragon, left behind by Kirchlehner in an effort to be rid of the thing. It has been known to forgo its enchantments and fall to the floor without warning, usually to the distress of anyone below it.
Class Content
Kendall Fleetfoot (Sept 08 - Feb 09)
Fleetfoot was a very open and welcoming professor, and his classes had a relaxing and fun tone to them. He was very encouraging to students who struggled with the subject, and quite patient.
Georg Kirchlehner (Feb 09 - Jun 09)
Kirchlehner, on the other hand, was extremely strict and demanding. He played favorites with the students and taught very much as a "sick or swim" type of mentor. With his background in dueling, many of the spells he taught were more aggressive in nature than is standard for the Charms curriculum.
