It turns to face the Celtic knot and passes through again after some more time has passed and starts the cycle again.
Personality Description: Moira is generally a quiet sort who keeps to herself. While she is open and comfortable with her immediate family, she doesn't say much of anything to people she doesn't know well and may not say anything at all if it's not required. Close friends she's likely to talk to, though it might take considerable amount of work to be considered a close friend. Moira's reserved nature is likely due to her lack of socialization before attending Hogwarts.
Keeping the vast expanse of emotions tucked inside, not including strong emotions which may result in a slight narrowing of the eyes or an upward quirk of her lips not quite becoming a smile, several students leave her be, turned off by being observed after their friendly, or cruel, greeting.
Being raised around winged horses has caused animals to be what Moira lives for, at least of the mammalian species and a few other creatures like dragons, hippogriffs, and gryphons. While wanting to continue her father's work of breeding winged horses, she studies any animal she comes across and will check out the same books from the library multiple times if she needs to.
History: Moira was born to Genie and Angus McBoid in her parents cottage out in the middle of their land, perfect for the winged horses they kept and bred. The closest town was a good distance away, and when Moira decided to be born she wasn't waiting. Her birth was cause for great excitement for her father, mother, and her Uncle Duncan. With her father being a pure-blood and her mother being muggle-born, Moira is a half-blood.
Raised on their land and rarely, if ever, taken to town Moira had a happy childhood. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember her mother aside from stories she's heard and pictures she's seen. When Moira was five years old there was an accident with one of the stallions and Genie died a quick death. Angus was devastated, but knowing he had a daughter who needed him, he pulled through and raised him to the best of his ability with his brother's help.
Moira continued to grow up on their land, away from other civilization, living with her father and uncle and sometimes other people whenever they had guests, though she fled and avoided such visits as best she could. She was taught to respect the earth and all its creatures, to take nothing for granted, and to know how to act around certain species. After all, one wrong move and anyone could end up dead or maimed.
When it came time for Moira to attend Hogwarts she was very apprehensive and during the first half of the year often felt like she was drowning from having so many people around her. Slowly she became more and more accustomed to it, but she never really has grown comfortable with it. She still preferred the wilderness and its creatures to people.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: While Moira is clever, she's completely focused on just animals instead of a basic overall like most Ravenclaws. That's also the extent of her ambition and drive, ruling her out for Slytherin as well. As for Gryffindor, while she is brave she wouldn't necessarily go out of her way to do something for the betterment of witches, wizards, or other sentient creatures. Most likely she would just hang back and possibly watch, if she wasn't doing something else already.
Writing Sample: Moira sat on one of the high points of her home watching as the sun set, turning everything into a different world with different colors. The smells stayed the same, along with the feel of the grass, the wind, and the chilled air. Soon she would have to go in and eat dinner, but for now she wanted to enjoy the last sunrise that she would see at home for a long while.
As usual the thought of returning to the press of bodies made her stomach knot up and her chest ache with longing for the wild lands, not the tamed spaces. Most of the students and teachers didn't stare at her anymore, but she figured she'd always receive those glances. She didn't know what to do about any of it, and she wasn't sure she wanted to. It was all... just too much for her. Just a few more years and she'd be done with school though and could go on to do what she loved most.
With a soft sigh as the sun faded away Moira rose to her feet, dusted the grass off her skirt, and headed down towards home. Already she could smell dinner wafting up to her on the wind, enticing her to hurry forward so she could eat her Uncle's amazing cooking. Maybe she would be fortunate and he'd send her more of his cookies and things during the school year. She could hope.
Sum up your character in one paragraph: Moira is very reserved and socially awkward, showing her true inner workings to close friends and her immediate family and no one else. She is driven in her studies of magical creatures, checking out such books from the library multiple times in case she forgot something that could be important one day. Keeping to herself, one must be very determined to become her friend to get her to open up.
