An attempt on the life of Azize Mulogo, Head of African Relations at the Department for International Magical Cooperation, was stayed by Aurors Adon Eleor and Jonas Trevelyan on the afternoon of March 15.  Mulogo and bystander Vedir Prideaux were set upon by the suspect outside the Visitor's Entrance of the Ministry of Magic.

Mulogo was not hospitalized and is safe.  However Auror Eleor was taken to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries and while details of his wounds were not released, he is being cared for in the Creature Induced Injuries Ward.  Although he arrived in grave danger, St. Mungo's is happy to report he is stable and will make a full recovery.

A great deal of muggle property was damaged, including the front of a pub and the pavement.  Oblivators were on the scene and will follow common protocol in ensuring the area is safe.  The 'Telephone Booth' Visitor's Entrance was also damaged, but will be in working order before tomorrow morning.

The Ministry of Magic is not revealing any clues as to why Azize Mulogo was targeted, or the identity of the suspect in custody.   Keep reading the Daily Prophet to stay up on this developing story!
