Since April of 2008, the count of werewolf sightings and attacks in Britain has notably increased. There are multiple reports occuring each full moon as the seasons change. All this despite Marcus Annwyl's and Covadonga Gertrudis's push for a friendlier, more compassionate Werewolf Registry, and a hard initiative to ensure the rights of all those affected by the werewolf curse. Things have gotten so bad, in fact, that a specialist has been brought in: werewolf himself, Vane Hendric.

A few of these attacks have been orchestrated by Cináed Tawse, a member of the WBA. He set a werewolf loose on Knox Greyfriar and others in October, and in November he captured Frank Pratt and injected him with a lycanthropy serum, which puts a frightening new twist on how this disease is transmitted.

This Daily Prophet Article describes the werewolf attack on Lukas Quinn, a Hit-wizard and Magical Law Enforcement veteran. This was one of Lukas' last missions, and he'd planned on being the flying instructor at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, the werewolf attack killed him.

On the night of the full moon, when Knox Greyfriar and Vladislaus Dragulia are escorting three students back to the Hogwarts castle, a werewolf attacks (set loose by Cináed Tawse)! Students Sasha Schlagenweit and Beatrix Dark escape and the Capture Unit swoops in at the last minute to subdue the werewolf, but not before Knox suffers a bite. Encounter

"Solaris Maximus!" A pillar of light shone from Knox's wand like the head lamp of a giant steam train. For a moment, everything was white and blinding. Blinking through the light, Knox saw it crashing through the thinnest of the saplings.

"Werewolf!" he bellowed, stumbling backwards. He was able to cast Reducto before the beast was upon him.

Covadonga Gertrudis and Fauna Blake visit the centaurs in the Forbidden Forest to find out more about the werewolf attack on October 14th. The centaurs share some interesting observations, but Bane loses his temper and tries to shoot Fauna. Ronan intervenes, taking an arrow to the chest, causing the herd leader to banish Bane for good. Covadonga apparates with Ronan to patch him up, and the herd of centaurs escort Fauna to the edge of the forest.

Cináed Tawse captures Frank Pratt, a book hunter who's just minding his own business in Knockturn. Cin injects Frank with a serum that turns him into a werewolf, then modifies his memory and dumps the man by a building in Knockturn. When Frank wakes up, he starts transforming... in broad daylight. James Forrester and Eudora Pascal get in his way.

And that’s when everything else pushed to the back of his head. He was starving! His mouth watered, his fingers gripped on to the wall, and he didn’t even notice (at first) the way his body started to morph. If anything, he counted it up to the pain he had been feeling across his stomach, chest, and nose. The broken nose was what brought him back to where he was, his sudden starvation held off as he let out a loud and unearthly groan, his face changing with the hairs that sprouted up. Ides of March During the full moon of March 2009, a rash of unpredicted werewolf attacks plague the entire country. Faulty wolfsbane potion (a result of the Mass Potions Recall from Ó Móráin Farms) accounts for some, while the deliberate engineering of a new form of the werewolf curse concocted by the WBA account for others.

During daylight hours today, werewolves were reported to attack across Great Britain. At least three attacks of this nature are confirmed - two in Diagon Ally and one in the forests surrounding Hogwarts School. The Daily Prophet has very little information at this time but we can report that these creatures appear in all ways like werewolves. There are no known instances of werewolves transforming during the day, so all bets are off as to what's going on.

A direwolf bursts out of the Forbidden Forest and attacks the students serving detention at the thestral pen in the late afternoon. Figaro Sellaphix, Freya Jansdotter, Jordyn Dimbleby and Beatrix Dark escape without wounds thanks to Ignan Storm, Georg Kirchlehner and A.A. Shepherd. But Eveline Chancelier is cornered in a barn and sustains a scratch. Georg Kirchlehner also sustains a werewolf scratch.
A Bit of Real-World Application

Lexus Dale, an unregistered werewolf, faithfully take the wolfsbane potion provided by Dazmond Wiedman, but it is tainted. She transforms too early and escapes her own flat to run loose in Diagon Alley.
A Canadian Werewolf in London

Knox Greyfriar, affected by the tainted wolfsbane potion transforms fully at the Ministry of Magic. Because of the overcrowding, his door was not properly shut, and he escaped. He attacks Kurby Bagnold and Fauna Blake.
These Dog Days Aren't Over

Olivia Foley meets Sasha Schlagenweit on the streets of Muggle London some time before nightfall - she is running late to make it home for her transformation. A recipient of the tainted wolfsbane potion, she transforms and attacks Sasha. Hildegarde Austerlitz is able to rescue them both from harm, immobilizing Olivia in beast form.

Very early in the morning, Kia Ferris has the dour duty of informing the Flickwick sisters Sophie, Emily and Ruby that their mother Ramona Flickwick was killed by a werewolf at the Ministry of Magic.
The Worst Kind of Bad News

Knox Greyfriar and all other werewolves that the Ministry could find, are held in the Ministry until they could determine the cause of all the chaos. Greyfriar wakes up in a holding cell, unaware of the night's events. Hannah Bombay arrives to run some tests, but Knox refuses despite threats from Kurby Bagnold and Griffon Manley to comply.
The Beast Within

Fauna Blake is in hospital from her wounds from the attack, and comes across Sasha Schlagenweit who is in the same predicament. Their discussion comes to a boiling point when they confront each other about rumors and loyalties.

The Direwolves, as the public has dubbed them, appeared in all ways like werewolves. Some witnesses even contend that they seemed to possess human thought - a trait never found in normal werewolves. "It was like he was looking right at him!" said one witness who saw the Direwolf attack at Calaveras in Diagon Alley.
