Nate Briggs struggles to maintain his reputation in a rough neighborhood. In trouble with Knockturn and in trouble with the MLE, he gets more resourceful (and desperate) to keep his head above water.

Nate's debts catch up with him when Cináed Tawse comes round to collect his payment - what Nate owes for blowing up the Black Chimaera.

Runespoor Smuggling plot link.
In a fateful errand, Nate Briggs is attempting to hide a parcel of cured Runespoor venom behind the Black Chimaera. Something goes horribly wrong. The Black Chimaera is heavily damaged and Nate is arrested by Adon Eleor later that night.
Nate negotiates a lighter sentence while Rafe Sellaphix (NPC) is sentenced to 10 years. This makes him mighty unpopular. No one likes a rat.No Thread

In the middle of the night, Richard Burke informs Nate with a punch to the jaw that he is unwelcome in Knockturn Alley.

The Magicarium Apothecarium is locked up for the night. Nate, under pressure from Cináed Tawse sets about to rob it to acquire a Muhra Glass, with help from an old, bored friend, Finn Grosvenor. However, things don't go as planned and a Hitwizard and Dept of Mysteries wizard intervene.
Branching Plot: Missing Muhra Glass

Nate sends his allotted Ministry owl to Dazmond, a spouse who's received one like it before. She responds with promises to help.

At some point, Dazmond calls in a favor with Jonas Trevelyan who goes off the book to talk to the incarcerated Briggs and offer him a thread of a chance at getting out of this with as little problem as possible. Nate is torn and wary, but ultimately gives up an important clue...

Briggs is unexpectedly released on a bail he could never afford, and soon enough his benefactor makes himself grimly known. Wizengamot Elder Vedir Prideaux requests an audience.

Sissel Jowd is still missing the Muhra Glass and if he's not careful, it'll never get found. And so he goes to Azkaban to see what he can convince Nate to disclose.
