Wizarding Architect.

Inherited money, the Bergen family are wizarding architects, usually employed to design and create magical dwellings, or at least the designs for. Well connected with well talented wizards, Maarten Bergen now runs the family business, and invests the money into buying plots of land and creating beautiful individual dwellings. These are sold after they have brought adequate publicity to the business in the location.

Appearance: Long, red curled hair that looks rather feminine. Love of beautiful robes with interesting and eyecatching cuts and angles. Pale skin but frequently ruddy cheeks and nose - nose and chin a little longer than average. Stands at 5ft 8inches tall, a little overweight.

Family: He has a wife, who is a full veela, a decade younger than him, whose looks and attraction keep her in the public eye in the Netherlands. They have twin daughters, who began attending Beauxbatons in 2008.

Short Bio: Prefers to converse in Dutch where possible, and has never got on with English, and requests his translator attend when he goes abroad. Only his arranged translator for his visit in March 2009 has fallen ill shortly before departure, leaving him to rely on Johann Storm. Bergen attended Beauxbatons and learned his trade in the family. He met his wife while working on plans for her parent's house and she took a liking to him unexpectedly. They are very happy together, and have twin daughters, also very pretty. He was hoping to have a son, to carry on the business.

At Absit Omen

Johann Storm is given the task of showing Bergen four plots of land (two in London, two elsewhere) to tempt him to buy some land in Britain. The Ministry were keen to encourage him to invest, as it helps improve relations with the countries and improves the British economy. He takes quite a shine to Sasha Schlagenweit during his visit.

In January, he was arrested after an altercation in Diagon Alley and interviewed by Aureliane Vandalier - Jan 21 2010 - The Bergen Bother [Aure]

In summer 2012 he invited Johann Storm and Balfour Spectre to the grand opening of a new exhibition[1] at the Museum of Magical Arts in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. The exhibition was of his lifetime's work so far. Hundreds attended.
