==Physical Description==

Tynan's most striking feature is his left eye - lost in a dragon attack, his face is covered in massive scarring, and his eyes itself is scarred shut. The scars continue down his neck and the left shoulder and chest, ending just above his ribcage on his left side.

Beyond that, Tynan's tall for his age. He's broad shouldered and broad chested, with a tapering waist and long legs. His large hands and feet imply incoming gains in height. He's also very strong and muscular for his age, a product of a hardworking life on the islands he called home. He doesn't really look his age, in short; his large grey eyes and somewhat feminine facial features - full 'pouty lips', thick eyelashes and soft skin - are the only indications of his age. His hands are covered in callouses and small nicks.

Tynan's hair is a mousy brown and best described as 'wind swept'. He cuts it on his own with a knife of scissors. giving it a wildly erratic style that actually rather suits him. His skin burns easily, so during the winter months fades to a healthy cream.

His clothing is very traditional in style. Out of his uniform he wears mostly wool - a over-sized white peasant shirt, black dyed wool pants and well-fitted dragon-skin boots.

Tynan MacFusty is a Graduate (Class of 2015) Gryffindor.

Physical Description

Personality

Tynan is not what he appears to be, to sum him up. On the outside, at least at Hogwarts, he's quiet, sullen, and somewhat hostile to others. While for the most part he's polite to girls and teachers, he's likely to lash out at other boys and treat even his friends with some physical roughness. Having grown up as the 'baby' in a clan of brothers, he fully expects to get hit back, and so can become confused when his opponent surrenders suddenly.

He's not a person who enjoy complexity, especially in life - at least not yet. He enjoys adventure and new explorations, but is not very academically minded. He has enormous difficulties reading and writing, and would rather be outdoors. He prefers physical activities to thought-based ones, and loves animals. At Hogwarts, this can lead to him frequently wandering off on his own outdoors, and he often watches the COMC class with unmasked envy.

On the inside, Tynan is loving, caring, and dare one say it, something of a romantic soul. He's traditional in the sense he had a comfortable, tiny world and is currently struggling with the fact that the real world won't fit that idea. As such, he's confused, lost and most of all homesick. He doesn't like to change too much and finding out he has to do so to fit in is difficult to him. Being surrounded by people he can't really identify with isn't helping.

Despite that, he's intensely loyal to his friends and respectful to what he feels is reasonable authority. If he doesn't understand something - or understand why he should struggle to understand it - he tends to dodge it or ignore it.

History

Tynan was born as the 5th child of the Mingulay MacFustys, into a large family group consisting of his 4 brothers, parents, paternal grandmother, aunt, uncle, and three cousins. He is the youngest of his mother’s children, his young cousin Ailis forming the rest of his family’s young children. Tynan himself is an 'oops' baby; his next closes brother in age is Gilderoy, who is currently 19, having graduated last year.

He was raised in a hard-working family group, learning quickly to fish and farm from a young age. His family, completely cut off from Muggles as they are, is largely self-sufficient; he did not leave the Hebrides until he left for Hogwarts, and going to the school was actually the first time he’d set foot on the mainland. The tiny island of Mingulay was his entire world until this last year.

When he was younger his main chore was caring for the goats along with his young cousin Ailis. The two of them spent a lot of time playing in the ruins of the muggle village, sometimes returning home with artifacts left behind by the departing population.

His elder brothers worked with the dragon itself along with most of the men in his clan. His brother Cameron was the one that nearly got him killed, however; the young man spent much of his time attempting to domesticate one of the dragon’s whelps, a secret which he kept from the rest of his clan. He believed himself to be making progress and brought the young Tynan and Ailis with him to the dragon’s lair to show them; the two children, who weren’t allowed near the sea-cave the dragon resided in, happily went along.

Unfortunately Ailis couldn’t keep her mouth shut or her hands to herself; she alerted the mother to their presence by grabbing onto the whelp, panicking it. The broodmother misinterpreted their actions and attacked, killing Ailis with a blast of fire. Tynan was smashed across the face by the rough-scaled tail and lost his eye as well as consciousness.

Cameron managed to carry his younger brother to a safe distance, hiding him among the rocks – but Hebridiean Blacks are not forgiving, and the dragon pursued him. He lead the broodmother a good distance before she got him.

Tynan was found an hour or so later by his uncle Rodger and taken back to the home. With the medical care they had, he nearly lost his life; he was considered lucky to only lose the use of his left eye. He was taken to St.Mungos still unconscious and kept asleep until he stabilized, and then returned home.

Since this incident his family grew closer and stricter; Tynan himself took quite some time recovering, taking to fishing out at sea with his father and staying away from the village and cliffs. Still, he hasn’t lost his desire to work with dragons; however, his desire stems now from a need to protect people from them, rather than to protect dragons themselves. He regained his daredevil attitude after a few years and by the time his letter he appears to have made a full emotional recovery from the trauma - but only time will tell.

His first year, so far, has been rough; he’s not good at reading and writing and would really rather not do so, though he’s learning at a decent pace. He's currently worn out of the adventure of a new lace and incredibly homesick - and quietly stressed about his test results.
