An Anima Amulet or Animus Amulet are objects of illusionary enchantment, often used in theatre or spycraft. Cheap ready-to-wear amulets exist but the most desirable are expensive, customised by an enchanter to create specific illusions.
Function
The Anima amulet fashions the illusion of conventionally femme features, whereas the Animus amulet does the same for conventionally masculine features. They are intended for short term usage and may have detrimental effects on one's health if used long term.
History
These amulets were patented the mid-20th century by a wizard who was inspired by Jungian psychology to create amulets for drag theatre. Despite the use of anima/animus in the objects' name, the amulets have little else to do with Jungian views on gender or sex.

- Casey O'Doherty, when being conditioned into a male heir in the family, was pressured to continuously wear an Animus Amulet for several years. Up until loosing it in the lake in November 2009, Casey rarely removed it. (An Unexpected Emergency Wash-Up) Casey's amulet, which the family possessed for generations, was built by Alvis Norling's ancestors. (A Piece of My Mind and Yours)
