Arthur Lemon is a pureblood wizard in his late 40s. In spite of his Purist leanings, he stood on neutral grounds during the second wizarding war, and was caught by Death Eaters who went on to cast the Cruciatus Curse on him (under the impression that he was a blood traitor). Extensive exposure to the curse had left him mentally unstable but for the most part Arthur was still a functioning member of society. He held on to his Purist views with even more fervor after the war, convinced that it was a lack of conviction which led to his capture and torture in the past. Regardless, he often experienced episodes of manic rage and violence. In August 2008, while visiting his nephew Roger Lemon at a town in Oxfordshire, Arthur had fallen into one of these episodes and murdered an innocent witch- twin sister to Raine Almasy.

The former Slytherin was tried and convicted of this crime. He now resides in Azkaban. There is presently a case being made in his favour, as a plea of insanity.
