Raine Almasy is a competent and clever Auror, whose social life is a bit lacking. She's friendly enough, despite a fiery temper, but is easily swallowed up by professional ambition.

Raine comes from a background of wealth and privilege - although she moves in these circles with the grace of someone raised into it, she prefers the company of her colleagues and a more varied social circle.

After the death of her aunt in 2011 Raine became the sole inheritor of her estate. She has split the inheritance with Ira's child, Feliks Spectre.

Even so, this has left her an extremely wealthy witch. Raine leaves the management of her assets to Alistair Ramakrishnan of Ramakrishnan & Rowan. Her affluence is not obvious to most, though she is not afraid to use it to her advantage.

History

With a muggleborn mother and a muggle-adept father, Raine grew up with a foot in either world. She was champion fencer in muggle tournaments, as well as being generally acquainted with technology.

Both of her parents came from rich backgrounds but are immersed in their work. As a result, she and her twin sister were raised by a governess. They were also doted upon by their aunt Ira Almasy growing up. Raine was especially favoured by Ira.

In the summer of 2008, her sister Sanya was murdered by Arthur Lemon - the Purist uncle of their childhood friend Roger Lemon. Raine's confident and fierce personality retreated into itself after this incident, though she has since recovered from the worst of her grief. Nonetheless, Sanya is never far from mind.

Raine was a champion of the TetraWizard Tournament in 2010, where one of the challenges forced her to reveal her hand as an animagus. In her final years at school, she dated Hufflepuff werewolf Zel Trumble, her first boyfriend. He was later kidnapped by Ira Almasy and forced to kill a muggle in his werewolf form.

When thsi was discovered, Raine informed on her aunt's movements to the authorities. This eventually led to Ira Almasy's reveal as a villain. Raine and Zel broke up shortly before their NEWTs.

She graduated from Hogwarts with excellent grades and went on to train as an auror.
