Divination is an Elective course that students can choose to begin taking upon reaching their Third Year at Hogwarts. It teaches the art of foretelling future events or discovering hidden knowledge by occult or supernatural means. Many do not take the subject seriously, though it has time and again been shown to be accurate in the right hands.

Classroom

The Divination classroom shares the same tower as the Astronomy classroom. Accessed via a short ladder, it has several tables and chairs arranged in tiers around a central podium. It can be decorated rather wildly; the classroom under the Seer Trewlawney was covered in rather tacky red curtains.

Grimlish left in protest over the harsh treatment of werewolf students by Analiza Snark.

Cillian Cuthbert (Sept 08 - Jun 09)
A young Seer and teacher of adults, Cuthbert was a rather timid man who felt it would be very difficult to teach students Divination.
