The Head of the Improper Use of Magic Office, Mordecai has been working in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement since he graduated from Hogwarts. As a result, with his encyclopedic knowledge of wizarding law, he is prepared to maintain the Statute of Secrecy and yet still be fair. He is also a member of the Wizengamot.

Arcturus Hollingbury is his son, and Lydia Hollingbury is his wife. Morgana Hollingbury is his disowned sister. The relationship with his sister is currently strained due to Mordecai's failure to negotiate reversing her disowning.

Mordecai currently is focusing on running his office in light of recent events such as Remember, Remember and Werewolf Games.
