The Beast Division is a part of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Its counterpart is the Being Division. The primary role of this division is to oversee the regulation and welfare of magical beasts with particular attention to concealing and protecting them from Muggles.
The Beast Division regularly cooperates with the Improper Use of Magic Office and Level Two in general to assist in stopping the illegal trade of beast-based products.
Fun fact: Centaurs insist on classification as beasts instead of beings out of protest of sharing the same status as vampires or hags.
Beast Division personnel includes administration, beast handlers and wranglers, magizoloogists, lawyers, and more.
