Dugan Macduff is off leash, and wrecking havoc on the witches and wizards of the Ministry of Magic. Fuelled by Cináed Tawse's influence and a direwolf's bloodlust, he is a difficult menace to stop.

A night on the town goes awry when Aurors Edward Pratt and Jonas Trevelyan are confronted by the mysterious Dugan Macduff. Macduff threatens to murder Eddie's family if he doesn't quit the Ministry within a week's time. Jonas calls in the cavalry, but Macduff manages to get away.

Dugan Macduff, 33, is wanted for attacking Isabel Barrington, the ex-wife of Auror Ackerly Fox. He entered the home of Barrington and her husband mid-day on March 31st and attacked both Barrington and her husband - two muggles. Both will recover from injuries. Department of Mysteries employee Colin Downer was declared missing after not showing up for work April 7, a date coinciding with April's full moon. Downer is a registered werewolf, and there is concern of further Wolfsbane Potion malfunctions, such as were responsible with a dozen attacks in March. When Downer's apartment was searched a note was found believed to be left by Wanted Wizard Dugan Macduff. Macduff is wanted for multiple assaults.Chase Chaucer

A week has gone by and the deadline for Macduff's ultimatum has come and gone. Eddie's wife and kids have been spirited away to a secret location. However, he soon finds out that Macduff has a very loose definition of family: the terrorist has murdered his two elderly parents. Eddie calls Aurors Charlene Malone and Archer Radley to the scene when he finds their bodies.

Frustrated that Macduff has been stalking Margo Amherst (who is currently living with Kurby), he stakes out her flat and lies in waiting for Macduff. The direwolf manages to escape after a brutal fight.

Intent on continuing his reign of terror, Macduff sends threats to the entire Auror office.

After receiving the threat, Edward Pratt storms into the office of the new Department Head, Cameron Rosier. The encounter explodes when Jonas and Adon follow behind and Rosier demands that all three Aurors turn in paperwork for the case. Pratt immediately quits on the spot, although Rosier refuses to accept his resignation.
