Belle is a kind, loyal person with a quiet demeanor. She cares very much for others. She is muggleborn. She loves books. Also, she has a cat named Merlin.
History
Belle Charlotte Hatter was born during a summer storm on August 14th, 1993. Her mother was over-joyed to finally have Belle in her arms after nine months of carrying her in the womb. Belle's father was absent, having broke up with her mother when he heard that Belle had been conceived.
Belle's mother, Charlotte, raised her by herself in a two-bedroom apartment while working three jobs to pay rent and care for them both. She wanted the best for her daughter, and worked her butt off to pay for Belle to attend a nicer school. Though she only attended the academy for two years before getting her Hogwarts letter.
Charlotte was only slightly surprised to learn that her baby girl was a witch. She'd noticed Belle's ability to do strange things for a few years now, and was glad that she would finally be able to learn about it and control it. Belle was simply excited, and eager to learn magic. Charlotte made sure Belle got all that she needed, and even bought her a cat, along with an owl.
The day Charlotte took Belle to King's Cross Station was a tear-filled one. Charlotte wept the entire day, even after Belle was gone and she had returned home. Belle however, didn't dwell on the separation from her mother. She spent the train-ride quietly conversing with another girl her age, and petting her cat, Merlin.
Belle did not make a lot of friends her first year at Hogwarts. She was far too shy to even try. But during her second year she made a few friends, though still had a problem with her crippling shyness. Belle gets along wonderfully with her classmates. She doesn't pick fights, and is always there to help out of comfort a friend or classmate if need be. In her fifth year she joined the Astronomy club, which allowed her to make a few more friends and acquaintances. That was also the year she broke her fractured her arm, tripping up the stairs of the Astronomy tower.
While Belle loves to read, she does have an interest in Quidditch. She would never play it seriously, but she loves to watch, and attended each try out session throughout the years just to see the others play.
