Voodoo Wasps
Crocodile Repopulation
The result was a crocodile with a ridge pattern, down their back, similar to that of an American Croodile, but the physical figure (head, tail, size, weight, and length) of a Nile Crocodile. When they sunbathe their scales dry, rise, and lengthen, taking on the pattern and texture of bark; the effect wears off once the creature submerges back into the water. They generally go unnoticed by most muggles, unless they get too close, but at that point they usually get eaten.
Nonetheless, governments associated with the Caribbean consider them a pest, due to their habit of eating humans (mostly muggles.) They usually try and make an attempt at relocating them, away from overpopulated areas but some wizards, especially in Florida, also like to purchase them on the black market and throw them into nearby habitats.
When the creatures are used a political or social mudslinging, the usual rebuke is, "We could've used a saltie(Saltwater Croc, averaging about 500-1,000 lbs and 4-5 feet more/longer than a Nile Crocodile.)."
