Evidence

  • A witch matching Vesta's description seen by 3 witnesses at the Leaky Cauldron from 11pm until after 1am. No one noticed her leave.
  • One of the witnesses, the bartender noted that she didn't pay in full, leaving only a few sickles.
  • Should the victim Anadotti Squiggs come forward, she'd be able to give a full description, time and place of the attack, and what was taken.
  • Scene of the crime is a small alley off Charing Cross Road in Muggle London.
  • If the crime scene were to be inspected, spell-detection spells like Enchantment Revealing Charm and Evidence Recovery Charm would reveal
  • There would be some knuts, balls of tissues, bottlecaps and Fizzing Whizbees in the alley.
  • Vesta Baddrick has a criminal record, but no previous crimes in London.

Jazelle Hawke should have known better. Vesta Baddrick had been watching her and as night fell, she accosted her in a closed off passageway in Diagon, stealing some sentimental treasures. Leaving her for a bit of garden statuary, Church Comer is sent out to find her.

Evidence

  • No one will be able to place a witch matching Vesta Baddrick's description in Diagon Alley that evening. Just bad luck.

  • Scene of the crime is a side passageway in Diagon Alley amongst some garbage bins.
  • If the crime scene were to be inspected, spell-detection spells like Enchantment Revealing Charm and Evidence Recovery Charm would reveal a great deal of spellwork including...

    • A fireball curse, and the charred spot on the cobbles to accompany it. (within 12 hours)
    • Sealed Mouth Hex (within 18 hours)

    • Two Apparitions, about an hour apart (within 24 hours)

Church is at the hospital with Jazz and they insist on speaking to Aurors at once.
