Jean-Paul Valjean is a fun loving happy go lucky teen with a passion and natural talent for Design, especially Architecture. He's a loyal and devoted friend, willing to do anything to secure and keep a friendship. While he knows when and how to have a good time Jean-Paul is an excellent student and a worthy candidate for the TetraWizard Tournament.

History

In his final year of University Conrad Valjean studied abroad in Paris, France. Originally from New York the young man had a passion for art and specifically artistic Architecture. While studying design and architecture in Paris Conrad met a young woman named Eponine Guerin. The two had a whirlwind romance and married few years afterwards once Conrad had graduated and found himself a respectable job as an Architect in Marseille.

Not long after they had two boys and were living happily. Unknown to Conrad his beautiful wife was more than what she seemed. Epinone came from a long line of powerful witches and wizards, one of the many pure-bloods families within France. She had told Conrad that she was an orphan and never knew her real parents when in truth she had been disowned by the family for her fondness for everything muggle, especially muggle men.

However their happy family suffered a great loss early on. In 1996 when Jean-Paul was only four Eponine disappeared. Conrad filed several missing persons reports and hounded the police for months but no trace of his wife was ever found. When the Second Wizarding War broke out Epinone's family had whisked her away to a safer location afraid that she would be punished for associating with muggles. They came in the middle of the night and easily fought off Conrad's protests, her eldest brother Obliviating him on their way out. To this day Conrad has no memory of ever meeting Eponine's family and believes his wife to simply be a missing person.

Despite the loss of their mother so early on Jean-Paul and his brother grew up like any other normal kids. Jean-Paul was a friendly and outgoing child even from a young age and never seemed to have problems making friends. While his father was a little worried about his rambunctious nature he never seemed to have problems in school and he soon embraced his little goofster.

When Jean-Paul and his brother came of age they received their letters allowing them acceptance into the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Conrad had a hard time accepting what was happening to his boys. Like most muggle parents he had always excused their early shows of magic as freak accidents. Weary but hopeful he sent his boys off viewing the Academy as an elite private school rather than a real magical one.

At school Jean-Paul once again socially flourished. He easily made friends while still being able to make good grades. He found his passion in transfiguration, charms and magical designs. As a muggle child he had always been very interested in his father's work. He had a natural talent for figuring out how things went together, with his magical education and an emphasis on arts Jean-Paul was able to apply his natural talent to his extra curriculars in school.

Though his happy go lucky, have fun when you can personality often clashes with those of his peers Jean-Paul is still optimistic and still strives to make as many friends as he can, never shying away from a conversation or the opportunity to learn something new about someone.

When the chance for the Tetra Wizard Tournament came up Jean-Paul leaped at the offer and was overjoyed when he was selected as a candidate. His excellent work in Charms and Transfiguration made him a worthy opponent while he was more eager to see the sights and buildings of the scottish countryside not to mention the intricate and extremely complicated design of the Hogwarts Castle itself.
