Appearance:

Short Bio: Hector was muggle-born, and finished Hogwarts in 1931 in Gryffindor House. Upon graduation, he traveled Europe and eventually infiltrated the followers of Gellert Grindelwald. He ended up being personally involved with the events leading to the dark wizard's defeat and was praised as a war hero.

He founded HHUG in the 1950s and served on the board until the 1980s. Harrison never married and has no known living relatives.

He lived out his last days in seclusion in Hogsmeade Village. In 2008, he donated his memories to the Memory Repository so that future generations would know the horrors of Grindelwald's crimes.

MISC

  • Was a first year with Xiomara Hooch.
  • She remembered him as, "Round-faced, dark-haired, funny eyebrows. Smiling." [1]
  • Sometime during World War II, Harrison attended a lavish dinner with Gellert Grindelwald. [2]
  • Upon his death in Jan 2010, Hooch hadn't spoken to him in 25 years. (1985)
  • Appeared in a photograph from 1939 that showed a motley collection of Grindelwald's early supporters. The photograph was included in a book entitled For the Greater Good: The Liberation of Magical Europe. [3]
At the start of the effort, even blood status was not a hindrance to new recruits. Known Muggle-born wizards, such as the German Count Otto Waldgraf III, Russian Dmitry Voronov and the English-born Hector Harrison, were accepted without reproach, though in later days, Grindelwald would grow far more suspicious of their loyalty. (Perhaps an irony, due to the fact that Harrison's loyalty was very much in question, even in the early days: see page 451 for more on The Final Fall of Grindelwald.)
For the Greater Good: The Liberation of Magical Europe
  • According to the same book, Harrison apparently was acquainted with Count Otto Waldgraf III, the great-uncle of Jacoba and Sasha Schlagenweit.
  • Harrison regularly visited the Three Broomsticks every Wednesday at 2:30 PM and ordered a whiskey sour.
  • When he died, in his pockets were found three keys (two large, one smaller one to a Gringotts vault); a small, thin wallet holding a collection of photographs, both magical and mundane, including a non-moving photo of a tiny girl with a large bow in her hair; a pouch of gold; two cellophane-wrapped peppermint humbugs; a folded gray muffler; and a stately pair of leather gloves.
