Named for Urquhart Rackharrow, the Rackharrow Bloodletting method is an old and storied method to safely collect potentially corrupted or cursed blood for divination or testing. It combines three elements:

1. The enchanted knife has a runed wooden handle and a spike-like blade with a groove running down the length. When the knife is touched to a droplet of blood, the groove sucks it in.

2. The vessel is of glass and alabaster, just big enough to hold two or three tablespoons of liquid.

3. A revealing medium. An amber-colored potion and the blood sample are placed in the vessel.

After a few minutes, the medium will react to any abominable magic or curse affecting the blood.

This method is commonly used for testing for complications of a Vampire Bite.
