Hope has been a vampire over four decades. She is the vampire who turned Cass Motley. She is wanted by the British Ministry. She has become radicalized and infected. She has returned to Britain in secret hoping to spread the word. But she will also spread her sickness without realizing.
Hope moved back and forth between vampire communities in Europe returning to Britain regularly. When she returned she would often feed on innocents in and around the Manchester area. In 2016 Auror Nadine Pinn pursued her. They fought at the top of a building. Hope used her powers against the witch and drank from her. Then she threw her off the building.
Hope continues to feed on innocents and associate withe the vampire communities up and down the country. She knows Auror Pinn is after her. But that makes it more fun. Hope is suffering from the blood lust infection which causes her to become frenzied if she does not feed more than usual.
Physical Description
Hope is slight. She has long wavy black hair. Brown eyes. Her skin has lost its sheen over the years of being a vampire. She has tattooed her skin with runes. She dresses in a wix style. Favors hooded cloaks and dark colors.
She is strong and has fangs capable of easily piercing skin. She learned to transform into a bat a few years after being turned. She can float to allow herself to move silently. She has learned psychokinesis though vampires might consider her young.
Can speak Zulu and Afrikaans though she will sound old fashioned. English is the language she converses in most often. She has a limited vocabulary in some European languages.
Personality Description
Most vampires would remember Hope as a good time. She lived for nightlife and craved company. She hated to be lonely. Those who knew her story would say it was because of the trauma of being driven out by those she loved. Hope wants to make connections but struggles to deepen them. She is transient and makes decisions on a whim. Flitting from location to location.
Today Hope harbors strong opinions that vampires should be allowed to feed on who they like. That they should be allowed to cull the muggle population. That there are far too many muggles. Hope agrees with the radical vampires in the United States who see death row inmates as suitable candidates for feeding. She sees the move to legalize feeding in Britain as a start. That this is her chance to start a revolution there.
History
Born in Cape Town in 1936. In the shadow of Table Mountain. At the time of her birth Cape Town was the legislative capital of the Union and later the Republic of South Africa.
Hope attended Uagadou School of Magic. She learned how to cast magic without a wand. Her family were magical creature breeders. There were streelers and fwoopers.
Hope grew up in the wix community of Cape Town. Life there had been turbulent for all of living memory. At one point it was the most racially integrated city in South Africa. But in 1948 the National Party won on a platform of apartheid (racial segregation). Within years the city was divided up according to race. Multi-racial suburbs of Cape Town were purged and demolished. Hope's family was forced out. Even though they were magical.
The upheaval of so many included a coven of vampires. They preyed on Hope one dark night in 1966 and she was turned.
Hope's life as a vampire began chaotically. The blood lust as a new vampire was horrific. She was chased out of the community by wixes she had grown up with. She spent decades moving and shifting from coven to coven. She worked night shifts on call centers in the 1980s. Did night bar work and cleaning and even did a stint as night manager at a hotel amongst muggles.
She came to Britain in the late 1970s. Loosely associated with the Scoundrels for a while. But was drawn to London for the night life.
In 2005 Hope made acquaintance with a vocal young witch who presented the morning radio on WWN. Cass Motley was excellent fun, and led a nearly nocturnal life too. She was always chasing a buzz, which led to Hope's proposition of a little drink. Cass was game to try, but one night in 2006 Hope lost her control. Drank Cass near to death. Turned her.
Hope knew she had done wrong. Cass was not nobody. She had a public job. She was meant to go on air. She was pursued and cornered by the Ministry. Punished for feeding on the living rather than from the blood bank. The post Voldemort Ministry was keen to keep vampires in line, but luckily not by by stake. This was the fate Mr Motley, the father of the newly turned vampire, wished upon Hope. He was so incensed, he did not deny the charge brought against him. While he was sent to Azkaban for six months, Hope cut her losses in 2007 and fled the country to reinvent herself again.
In recent years Hope has flitted back and forth between Britain and the European continent. She wants to come back but knows she takes a risk being recognized. The change in law in Britain has opened doors.
While away Hope has associated with radical vampires. Ones who actively feed and wish to increase their numbers. Or feed on muggles and cull their numbers. She is emboldened to return and spread the movement. While unwittingly she has become infected with a disease that is fueling her hunger and dangerous behavior.
Hope does not have a paid job. She associates with different covens who know her. Lies low. Has not officially re-registered as she will be sent to Azkaban.
