Laevenstrome's Fundunct of Sorcery
Laevenstrome's is a small further education institute founded to provide more in depth magical education to adult witches and wizards who have completed their magical studies.
Location
The school is on the shores of Lake Elsinore in California, disguised from the prying eyes of Muggles.
Noted students and staff
- Saturno Navarro, tenured professor since 1994
Academics
Laevenstrome's offers students degrees in a variety of magical disciplines. The academic rigor here has been questioned, but it is one of the more liberal and progressive schools in the U.S. and continues to produce fine, accomplished professionals.
Culture
The school follows the magical tradition of sorting students into Houses.
- Eruditen (owl, green)
- Nemonute (raven, grey)
- Ludius (eagle, blue)
- Ariten (parrot, orange)
- Stolidum (hen, purple)
Students, all adult, do not wear uniforms.
There is student housing as an option for on-campus living. However, most choose to commute by Apparition.
History
Founded in 1965 by Almenius Laevenstrome, who was hailed by Wizard's Weekly, perhaps in typical wizarding hyperbole as "The American Dumbledore, or perhaps Merlin in tie-dye."
