Affinity Aids
From Absit Omen Lexicon
Affinity Aids are a tool used for locating a magical or supernatural relationship between a person, object, place, or thing and another person, object, place, or thing. It will only indicate if a relationship exists and not how that relationship functions, and is often employed as a teaching aid for learning Wandlore and Divination, and is also sometimes employed by young cursebreakers. It is a simple, general, effective, and safe means of discovering and studying the magical world.
- The affinity aid should be near, on, worn, or placed on the person, object, place, or thing someone wishes to find a magical relationship for.
- Afterwards, most affinity aids change colors, grow hot or cold, or change shape to indicate when a magical relationship is present.
- Wizards and witches then discover what this relationship is through process of elimination, but without someone experienced in identifying these magical instances, it can be difficult to discover the relationship through subtle means.
