Blood bank

The Blood bank is located in St. Mungo's Hospital. It is where blood donations are stored, and is approved by the Ministry of Magic as an official source of food for registered Vampires.

Donating Blood

All humans and Beings are eligible to donate blood, unless they carry a blood borne illness or suffer for Lycantrophy. Werewolves are therefore not allowed to donate blood. All blood donations are labelled so that Healers (and Vampires) will be aware of the type of blood they are using/consuming. Blood can be given at blood drives, which are sometimes set up by the Ministry's Being Division or by St.Mungo's itself.

People are also encouraged to donate directly to the blood bank, on a regular basis.

Blood Shortage

In the Stick Your Neck Out plot, it is has been established that the blood bank was broken into in February 2011. As a result, there has been a recent shortage of official blood sources for vampires.
