The Department of International Magical Cooperation is a division of the Ministry of Magic which, as its name suggests, tries to get magical peoples from different countries to work together.

The Department functions similarly to the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in the Muggle world.

It is found on the fifth floor of the Ministry.

Divisions

The International Magical Trading Standards Body

This body is in charge of overseeing and assessing trading practices within the wizarding world, as well as passing international legislation regarding trading standards.

The team is headed up by Kadyn Hamilton, and includes Athena Bardigan, Pedran Prewett, Douglas Reid.

The International Magical Office of Law

This office monitors the laws and policies set down by the International Confederation of Wizards, and advises Britain's Minister for Magic and the Wizengamot on matters of international law in order to prevent contradictions between British magical law and its international counterpart.

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement actually enforces the international policies and laws of the International Confederation of Wizards on British soil, albeit often relying on the advice of the International Magical Office of Law.

Magical Translations Services

Formerly headed up by Augustus Bellingham until mid 2010, then by Johann Spectre until the start of 2013, now Amélie Kelly. This is a small, often overworked team. They work with relevant colleagues in the Beast Division and Being Division for non-human languages.

Foreign Travel Advice

A small corner of the office produces literature and responds to owls asking for advice on foreign travel for wixes.

Immigration

A specialist team work with the Department of Magical Transportation and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to deal with anything relating to wixes moving to Britain from other countries.

History

This Department was established sometime between 1798 and 1811, by Minister Artemisia Lufkin. In terms of hierarchy, the Department is not seen as prestigious as the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
