Symptoms
Short term - chance attack, under half an hour
- Drop of temperature - chill
- Bad memories - depressive mood, lingering sadness
- Nightmares - irregularly in weeks and months following
- Soul: unharmed or minor edge tears
Medium term - possible IDREAD employees, hour to two hours repeated regularly with breaks
- Drop of temperature - risk of hypothermia
- Bad memories - depressive mood, prolonged sadness even after exposure
- Nightmares - more regularly in weeks and months following
- Soul: unharmed or minor edge tears (if patronus used) or fraying if unprotected
Long term - former Azkaban inmates, over two hours, little to no breaks for days, weeks or longer
- Drop of temperature - high risk of hypothermia, possibly even frostbite
- Bad memories - continual depressive mood, sense in constant impending doom, sadness, potential disconnect with reality to cope
- Nightmares - regular, disrupting sleep
- Loss of appetite

- Medium to high chance of full recovery
- Most symptoms gone within 1 week of no exposure
Long term - former Azkaban inmates, over two hours, little to no breaks for days, weeks or longer
- Low to medium chance of full recovery
- Most symptoms gone within 3 months of no exposure
- Some symptoms can only be treated long term (flashbacks, lingering depression)
Extreme long term - former Azkaban inmates, exposure with little/no break for a year or more
- No to low chance of full recovery
- Some symptoms can be alleviated
