Dreogan Eleor, Sr.

From Absit Omen Lexicon

Dreogan Eleor, Sr. is still taught in schools today as a formative thinker, scholar, and theorist in Muggle Studies, and human and being rights. Widely considered one of the more progressive thinkers during a particularly tumultuous time during the First Wizarding War, Dreogan Sr. posited himself directly against Voldemort's school of thought that Muggles were inferior, deserving to be ruled by their more abled, magical counterparts. His theories of compassion and coexistence extended beyond Muggles to other groups--squibs, house elves, goblins, werewolves, and others directly serving or impacted by the Wizarding Community--and often drew direct parallels to the brutalities of genocide in both contemporary African civil wars and Nazi philosophies and atrocities committed during World War II. As a Holocaust survivor, Dreogan Sr.'s writings are firm, passionate, and decisive in denouncing human atrocities--unafraid to mention Voldemort by name.

To this day, the house elves of Hogwarts hold Dreogan Sr. in particular regard. The goblins of Gringotts, less so.

Dreogan Eleor, Sr. fell in love with a Hogwarts student, Hestia Eleor who, as part of a research project, reached out to him for an interview. Sparks flew and the couple got married as soon as was practical, although the marriage would never meet with the approval of Hestia's parents, who disowned her for marrying a man so much her elder and one who confounded purist sensibilities so recklessly.

After having two sons, Dreogan Eleor and Adon Eleor, Dreogan Sr. helped to establish a socialist community, comprised of both Muggles and Mages, called Kibbutz Erez. Situated in the Negev desert, to the world--not only Muggles--the kibbutz appeared to be a date farming community. The exact function of this kibbutz remained unknown to most of the world, but community was conducting controversial magical experiments by infusing objects with spells, which could be released by non-magic bearers when activated--effectively putting magic in the hands of Muggles. To this day, a variety of organizations, not all limited to the Near East, have expressed interest in the small community's research. Within the first decade of its establishment, there were a variety of skirmishes and abductions by hostile outsiders--the first of which was Dreogan Eleor, Sr. Eventually the Ministry in Jerusalem stepped in, ending the kibbutz with a resounding finality in 2000.

Dreogan Eleor, Sr. it would later be discovered, was abducted by an organized crime ring called, simply Topluluk ("group" in Turkish). Dreogan Eleor, Sr. had promised the fruits of his research to them in return for funding to start up the kibbutz, as well as a precious family heirloom, the Seer Stone. Rather than give either up, however, Dreogan Eleor, Sr. locked himself in his own vault at Gringotts--upon the premise of fetching the Seer Stone. He never came out, and his remains were found years later.
