Elisabeth Pascal

From Absit Omen Lexicon

Elisabeth Pascal is a famous jazz singer. She is a talented songstress with a stubborn independent side. She is a purist who respects her superior and elders but also demands respect from those beneath her. She is someone who has little understanding for the lesser beings, or something different than the norm.

Wand

Elisabeth’s second wand was purchased in France during her brief stay after the war. She used up a lot of gold to purchase the wand due to its rare Fairy Hair core. It was made of Pink Ivory would and is pliable with a smooth finish. Probably her most prized possession.

Her first wand was purchased “commonly” as she would say from Ollivander’s. Made of Olive wood, quite rigid and with a smooth surface, the core was a Phoenix feather. It was destroyed during the Battle of Hogwarts, as she attempted to flee.

Physical Description

Elisabeth is a beauty or at least it is claimed in many magazines such as Witch Weekly. She is over average height, 5’7 and of a slender build. Curves are somewhat lacking from her skinny frame, same foes with muscle. She appears to be of weak strength and only weights about 135lbs. She has a tiny but defined bone structure, which lends itself to the narrow shape of her face and defined cheekbones. It has been said that she would have made a great model had that been her career path.

She has a vintage yet elegant style of dress. Finding an appeal of the 1930’s style of dress, but does find today’s sultry elegance among her wardrobe. She has the type of body shape that could wear anything, labeled a “coat rack” by many. She is always dressed in the best of clothing; nothing comes cheap for Elisabeth Pascal.

Her hair is nearly black in colour and cut short to chin length. It too is styled to something of a 1930’s style most of the time. It is naturally wavy and rarely appears as if a hair is out of place. Of course this is after the work of well-practiced beauty charms. Without the aid of magic Elisabeth’s hair can be quite wild and curly, not to mention a tangled mess. Elisabeth’s hair has been exposed to beauty charms since her toddler years when her mother would do it for her.

A pale complexion is quite stunning against the darkness of her hair. Her skin appears smooth and blemish free, but this too is not without some charms. Blemishes are not to be had upon a Pascal face in Elisabeth’s mind. She takes much pride in her appearance. She does wear make and in varying forms, whatever the occasion calls for. Elisabeth’s favourite feature would be the equally alluring blue eyes.

Personality

Elisabeth is a strong, proud, independent woman. She does not feel the need to rely on others, and has always felt she could fend for herself. She has always set high standards for herself and expects herself to meet them. She has always had dreams and she is too proud to back down from them. Elisabeth will do anything to make her dreams come true, as she is a truly passionately dedicated person. She has a mind of her own and sometimes this makes it so she won’t listen to reason or other opinions. It is extremely hard to talk Elisabeth out of something she has her mind and heart set on.

She has always respected her elders and superiors, finding it easy to follow their leads in life. She has always respected discipline supplied from a superior, but completely and fully demands discipline from those in a position below her. Elisabeth makes quite a terror when it comes to personal assistants, producers, and wardrobe workers. She demands respect and often finds giving respect to lesser beings quite painful.

Purism is trait passed down by her parents and siblings. Fortune is important, but pureblood is even more important. She was raised to believe the ideals of the Death Eaters, though she herself was never one. She has not really toned down her ideas of purity, but does not go about advertising these ideals to the public. Appearance is everything when it comes to someone’s fame, and she would rather not lose a fan base, though admittedly she would prefer to be well known in the pureblood society, even if it is dwindling. Elisabeth does not completely feel strongly towards purity, finding halfbloods to be okay but muggleborns are a completely different story. Muggleborns seemingly do not make sense to Elisabeth and should not be accepted, as they do not know the world having never grown up in it. She has been known to snub those of lesser blood than herself, and she has strong ideals of continuing on a pure line. Her ideas of purism even enter into those of creatures, finding werewolves to be less than humans. Needless to say, Elisabeth is rather intolerant of new and different.

Elisabeth is stubborn and persistent, which has definitely led to her success. She has never known to back down, especially from an argument. She is social intellectual, but magically she was never top of the class. She has a rational mind and does not jump to the first idea but thinks things through. She often chooses the safest alternative. It is a rare sight to see Elisabeth be spontaneous but she does have her moments of whimsy, but she is definitely clearheaded and logical.

She lives for the spotlight, which would be why she chose to be famous. Since she was a young girl she has always loved attention, and she always had a knack at getting it. She is a talented woman and there still remains a quality in that personality that draws you to her, yet she is considered kind of cold.

History

Elisabeth Italia Pascal was the youngest child born to Lucien and Meribeth Pascal. Elisabeth is significantly younger than her sibling as if she was born and after thought and of course completely unplanned. Elisabeth would always feel distant from her siblings due to an age gap she had no control over. While she was being a toddler running the empty corridors of their home in Manchester, her siblings were off at Hogwarts or even near completion. Elisabeth was born in the new year of 1980 and was treated somewhat as a bit of a princess. Even has a child there was something special about the child, an almost star like quality if you will.

As Elisabeth grew older that quality only grew brighter. She was always grabbing the center of attention at parties or social gatherings. She loved to do a little song and dance as a child, much to her parents’ embarrassment. The embarrassment would soon fade as an actual vocal talent appeared. To encourage music in the young girl she was given piano lessons, which she also took a shine too. As the youngest child and with her siblings off at school she was spoiled rotten and this only fueled the growing distance between siblings.

The closest person in age to Elisabeth in her family was her niece Eudora who was only born two years after Elisabeth. Unfortunately, or luckily depending on Elisabeth mood at the time, Eudora would not attend Hogwarts with Elisabeth. Elisabeth continued to remain distant from her family since her siblings had long since graduated and were old enough to produce children of their own.

1991 Elisabeth would go off to Hogwarts with the likes of the Great Harry Potter. Like any wizarding child she had heard all about Harry Potter the boy who lived. If anything he was infamous in her household, looked down upon for ridding the world of Voldemort. Her parents had been supports (unmarked), truly believing in his ideals and what he stood for. They had always talk Elisabeth to keep the same ideals, which was why she snubbed the likes of muggleborns, and Potter and those who associated with him. Elisabeth was thankfully sorted into Slytherin, where she played a background role to the likes of Malfoy, Parkinson, and Bulstrode. She was not involved too fully in their group, associating with others in the house and a few Ravenclaws. During her years at school she found that she felt at home among the purists and also discovered her real lack of interest in what her parents viewed as a ‘real’ job. Elisabeth still loved her music, and during her teen years had even begun to write her own songs.

Elisabeth always went with the flow at Hogwarts, often wishing for a more mundane existence, wishing the Dark Lord could finish Potter off and get it over with. Nothing particularly sparked her attention until the death of a student, which left her uneasy at the safety of Hogwarts. All concerns vanished as she realized due to family connections she had little to fear, as her siblings Bergen and Genevieve getting involved with the likes of the Dark Lord. The arrival of Umbridge brought much respect from Elisabeth, even if some of her rules were a great pain. Elisabeth simply kept her head down and followed them, respecting her elders and demanding respect of those younger and less wise than she. Elisabeth’s six and seventh year were very much a blur to Elisabeth as she truly was going through the motions, only finishing school to receive acceptance from her parents, as she knew what she wanted to do. Elisabeth would barely call her seventh year and solid completion to her education, but chose not to return.

During the battle of Hogwarts she took a side, that being the side of her family. She would go with the Death Eaters, but did not remain to fight for long. After nearly taking a curse or hex to the torso she decided to leave, especially since she had a damaged wand and no way to fight. After the events of her final year she decided to leave for France to get away from it all. This was where she would really get into her music, living off a trust fund.

Career

Writing music and living off her parents money was how she got through the next few years of her life. She lived in France for two years and eventually returned to live in London, England. Her contact with her family was limited and even her eldest Bergen had found himself caught and rotting away in Azkaban. Her home life was not something she acknowledged and she enjoyed the life she was creating for herself. It was in 2001 when someone finally signed a contract with her and it was the start to the whirlwind rise to fame.

She has released two albums over the course of her career, with a third on the way (October 2008). She has made great success and has also quite the name for herself. She has sold out shows, and everyone has heard a song or two on the wireless. Elisabeth has become the star she has always wanted to be.

Elisabeth is a famous Jazz Songstress of the wizarding world. She writes all her own songs and music, and often plays the piano on her own tracks and stage shows. She is always working in her head to make the next big hit of a song. She has a producer and record company riding her to push out more songs and the next new album. Elisabeth’s years of piano lessons and vocal training has paid off to make her into the talented young woman she is today.
