Ichabod has thick brows and nose like his mother, but otherwise shares the notorious Grimlish traits. Tall and slight, he is not particularly athletic or imposing. With a mysterious dark eyed gaze behind black framed glasses and a pale, unreadable face, he comes across as very unapproachable. Which is perfectly fine with him.
