Ivy Allergic Skin Reaction

The accidental use of glechoma hederacea in a potion applied to the skin.

Glechoma hederacea (ground ivy, gill). A member of the plant family Labitae. Creeping evergreen perennial herbaceous plant with square, sectioned stems and dark green, kidney-shaped leaves. Small, pale green flowers and smooth, oval capsular fruits.

Symptoms

Blistering and swelling of the skin, itching.

Treatment

Bathe affected area in lukewarm water and treat with calamine lotion

Recovery

Generally good prognosis.
