Virgil enters Waverly's dream uninvited because she hasn't been answering his owls. Waverly's not facing the trauma of the attack and Virgil tries to help her find a way to deal with it. He offers to erase the memory.
"Yes," she said looking into Virgil's eyes and nodded. "That's what I want."Waverly Roh-Ballentyne

Virgil watches Waverly fall asleep then meets her in her dream without disturbing her. He replaces the memory of attack with a new one where Hooker does not break her hand or bite her. Waverly wakes without any recollection of her and Virgil's agreement.
