Figaro and Sophie have been dating for three days. Figaro finds Sophie being platonically affectionate with Erin Harper. A confrontation gets out of hand.
Figaro Sellaphix, hearing about the rumor, has written a song about it.[1] He is singing it in the Great Hall as a joke when Sophie Flickwick overhears. She confronts him and ultimately breaks up with him for being a bad friend to Fauna, who he insists doesn't care.
Sophie, having recently broken up with Figaro, is a mess in Defense class. Figaro and Sophie are not speaking and Figaro is sure to avoid being paired up with her.
All the kids head to Spellpunk one summer night. Figaro and Sophie are still broken up and being awkward about it. Figaro orders Logorrhea and flirts with Envy Katakura who reasonably takes offense and hits him in the face. Sophie relents and helps Figaro tend his face.
He rolled his eyes. Figaro couldn't figure out how to feel about Sophie. On one hand, she was a little terrifying. On another, he had loved kissing her with tongue. On yet another, she was insane and he hated her. And on another, her mom had been torn apart by a werewolf. So how was he supposed to feel when she came out of nowhere and started climbing all over Kirby and sucking on his face?
Figaro seeks out Sophie to apologize, having to deliver his message via chalkboard. It doesn't go great at first, but they end up putting their heads together with some ideas on how to help SAWS including new people to recruit, like Xavier Tawse and Raine Almasy. And they kiss even though they're broken up.
Figaro comes upon Alexia in a bikini swimming in the boat house. They flirt and he kisses her, just one day after kissing his ex Sophie Flickwick. Awkwardly, it turns out she was just flirting and is gay.
Figaro and Sophie reconnect and get back to flirting/arguing outside of the Halloween dance. After some heart-bearing discussions and some kissing, they get back together.
Figaro and Sophie hang out in a nook or cranny after their werewolf friends have left Hogwarts for the full moon. Figaro brings Nutella and a scented candle.
On the Hogwarts Express back to finish their fifth year, Figaro Sellaphix is playing with Billywig Stings. He, Mysti, Nicholas, and Sophie catch up about the holiday.
Sixth year students Figaro and Sophie are dating and having a great time together at a charity shop. (They break up again sometime later this month, off-screen.)
They grab ass. They steal kisses. They hold up used or holy undergarments for the other to try on. Figaro wobbles in awkward beige pumps. Sophie wears seven bowties seven ways. They debate who looks better in the chartreuse faux-fur bolero with the fringe of false raccoons' tails.
Figaro and Nicholas get into an argument about Sophie following Figaro and Sophie's most recent breakup. Their friends are getting tired of their drama.
Nicholas, Virgil, and Ariadne host a New Years Eve party, full of drinks, games, flirting, confrontations, and dodgy encounters with the Statute of Secrecy. Virgil is with Anton. Figaro openly feuds with Moira and admits to a well-known old crush on Fauna. There are surprise appearances by Gabriella and Sophie.
Sophie is back in London and she and Figaro are trying to hang out like old times even though their school days are behind them. They catch up and make plans and Figaro shows off how he can text on his iphone.
Figaro and Virgil are hanging out smoking gillyweed and the topic turns to relationships. Figaro tells Virgil he's in love with Wilhemena and describes the strange way they relate to each other. Virgil begins to see that the relationship is off-kilter. Virgil reveals to Figaro that he and Sophie slept together their seventh year, no strings attached.
