Portugal
Portugal, officially the Portuguese Republic, is a country located on the Iberian Peninsula in Southwestern Europe, whose territory also includes the Macaronesian archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.
It features the westernmost point in continental Europe; its mainland west and south border with the North Atlantic Ocean; and in the north and east, the Portugal-Spain border. Lisbon is the capital and largest city by population, and it is also the main spot for tourists alongside Porto, the Algarve and Madeira.

Official language is Portuguese with regional language Mirandese.

Portuguese witches and wizards have the option to attend Beauxbatons Academy Because of this, it can be assumed that Portuguese wizarding children learn French as a second language during their childhood as French is not a language traditionally spoken by the Portuguese.
There were witch trials in Portugal.[1] The country did not get pulled into the wizarding war of Voldemort era.[2]
Merpeople
There are Azores Sirens off the coast of Portugal. They have war cry songs passed down through the generations. In the age of wood and sail over-fishing had debilitated the food sources for the Sirens. An unusually warlike colony that attacked trade routes along the European Atlantic, including an incident of trying to drown 15 wizards from the mouth of the Thames.[3]

- Braga Broomfleet are a Quidditch team from Portugal, which are considered by some "one of the best teams in the world", due to their inventive tactics.
