Sheridan O'Callaghan

From Absit Omen Lexicon

An inquisitive, friendly girl with a sunny disposition and a ready smile, Sheridan can often be distracted by some abstract or fascinating new piece of information. She can be too trusting for her own good sometimes, which has been known to get her into trouble.

Physical Description

A wispy girl of average height with wide, far-set blue eyes and fair skin. Her thick red hair falls roughly to her shoulder blades, laying straight with no bangs. She's thin and wiry, neither short nor tall. It's quite rare to find a time she isn't smiling. Her nose is narrow and upturned a little oddly.

Personality Description

Sheridan, called Sheri by her friends and family, is - on a normal day - a cheerful, happy, friendly girl with a sunny disposition and a smile. Her inquisitive nature can cause her to come off as downright nosy sometimes, and she can be a little gullible and easy to mislead. She doesn't like people to know when she's hurt or sad, so she internalizes and has her own private breakdowns when she can get away from other people.

History

In all honesty, Sheri has had a relatively normal upbringing with two wizarding parents. Her father, Liam, was born to a wizard and a muggle, and her mother, Claire, had wizarding parents who were both muggleborn, though only her grandfather Conor survives on that side, and he lives with her family. She has fond memories of summers spent with her paternal grandparents in Atticall, listening to her grandfather spin tales and learning Irish dancing from her grandmother.

Her parents don't have particularly notable jobs. Her father is the equivalent of a clerk at the Ministry of Magic, and her mother is a seamstress. They are what could be considered a middle-class family. The year before she received her enrollment letter for Hogwarts, her mother gave birth to a second child, named Niamh after her maternal grandmother.

After receiving her enrollment letter, there was a great deal of excitement around her family home. She was whisked off to get her school supplies very promptly, and Conor bought her a striped owl as a gift. The owl was promptly named Fionn, and Sheri is very fond of him.

Despite her nature, Sheri has only recently started to really step out at school. She still visits her grandparents over the summer holidays and goes home over the winter holiday, where she spends a lot of time babysitting little Niamh.

Her mother has been ill recently, but it's nothing life-threatening. It has caused Sheridan to act more distracted than normal, however.

Always inquisitive growing up, always wanting to know the "why" and "how" of her parents' jobs, her grandmother's job on her father's side, her garden, what have you. Really, she very rarely ever really closed her mouth about curiosities.
