The Legend of Winterbrew

It has been said that many many years ago when Canada was still an uncharted and savage land the Great White North was ruled over by powerful being known as the Ice Lords, elemental creatures that lived in the arctic and controlled the deathly winters of the country. The greatest and strongest of the Ice Lords was King Hilstopheliis. He ruled over the land with an icy fist and no one was safe from his icy wrath.

One day the north was invaded by a ship brigade of vikings. King Hilstopheliis studied the brave warriors and permitted them to explore his land, ready to kill them at the first sign of trouble. The biggest and mightiest of the Vikings came to King Hilstopheliis court and soon fell in love with the King's daughter Selwynium. The warrior knew that he and his men were still alive only because the King permitted it and so fearful of the mighty creature he asked the King permission to take his daughter back to his homeland. The King agreed on one condition, the mighty warrior was to give him a barrel of the magical ale he carried with him. It was said that the ale had been blessed by the Norse God Odin himself and would give the drinker the strength to conquer any land.

The warrior agreed, the King was given a barrel of the warrior's finest ale and the Warrior and his men left the King's land with the Princess aboard. However unknown to the great Warrior the Princess was a vengeful and spiteful creature whose heart was made of ice. She resented her father for trading her to the Warriors and so while the ships set sail back to their homelands Selwynium unleashed her wrath and froze not only the ship and those aboard but most of the ocean around her.

Many years later the ship was discovered by a tribe of Inuit Wizards. They marveled at the still frozen Viking Warriors and found that the many barrels of Asgard ale had been transformed by Selwyniums wrath and became the first ever batch of Winterbrew. To this day Winterbrew is still made by the Inuit Wizarding community who refuse to tell anyone how the special drink is made.
