Apperumcium is a public house located near the docks in St. Cyprian. It serves hot meals and lukewarm drinks for relatively cheap, which has made it popular with both locals in the colony and sailors passing through port.

The front of the public house is rather unassuming, with a white wood and stone facade. A hanging sign with a wand and a crossed key often sways in the tropical breeze. Behind the inn is a small herb and vegetable garden.

Pollux Thursby, the establishment's owner, keeps the tavern open to all, although he is much less welcoming of governmental agents. He has been known to be very generous with those who need to run a tab.

Layout

Ground Floor

Within the public house, the main floor functions as a tavern. It is a wide, open room with low-hanging timbers crossing the ceiling, narrow wooden tables, and a wooden bar propped up on two barrels that occasionally collapses if someone leans on it too firmly. Wooden floorboards creak loudly with every step. The floating candles that drift overhead lend a little more light than a normal Muggle establishment.

Food is limited to one option per day, which is dependent on what the establishment's hopping pot decides to serve that day. It usually consist of stew or hot pasties, and is typically warming and tasty, although regulars will advise not to look at the meat too closely.

Drinks have a little more variety. Offerings include rum punch, a strong ale (which occasionally tastes a little sour, depending on the batch), scrumpy cider, and Flippendo, the house speciality beverage with mixed rum, ale, raw egg, molasses, and pumpkin. Most of the alcoholic beverages are fermented on site.

First & Second Floors

Upstairs, Apperumcium is a functioning inn, with several rooms for rent by the day or by the week to those passing through. The rooms are fairly simple, with the only furniture consisting of a low bed with a straw mattress, a wooden dresser, and a wooden chair.

Pollux and several of his employees live in slightly more furnished rooms on the top floor.

Basement

The public house's brewing operation takes place in the basement. There, one will find several large wooden tubs, used for fermenting rum, cider, and beer on site.

For those in the know, an illicit gambling ring is also offered out of the basement on Friday and Saturday nights.
