Saint Cyprian refers to both the magical island that is the central hub for the Caribbean's expat magical community, and the eponymous port town where most of the island's population lives.
The island is not anchored in place; instead, it floats around the Caribbean Sea, which makes it easier to hide. It can be accessed in various ways, such as by magical compass and by port key. It is warded from detection by most Muggles and unfriendly authorities.
The port town on St. Cyprian is a bustling trading community with magical kin from all over the world. Magical ships regularly dock there on their way to and fro across the Atlantic. Although Muggles have been known to live in town, their presence was somewhat controversial.
After the Statute of Secrecy was enacted in January 1692, the city has seen an influx of refugees looking to avoid detection or disagreeing with the stringency of the Wizards' Council.
