Capable, tough and aloof, but surprisingly nurturing, Kia Ferris is a former Slytherin and Field Agent for the Werewolf Capture Unit. She is the daughter of a magizoologist, Sean Ferris, and former Auror who died in the line of duty, Celestine Ferris (Nee St. Murfordt), and elder sister of a healer, Kale Ferris. She was a black sheep in a family of Hufflepuffs, her cold exterior and ambitious nature pushing her into Slytherin where she was teased ruthlessly for her appearance (she was pudgy, bespeckled and had braces at the time) and 'Dirty' blood (Her father is a muggleborn and her mother is the child of a squib and a muggleborn). She has since graduated and went on to better herself while working for her father at his Magizoological ranch/clinic. However, when her brother was attacked by the werewolf Vincent Carrow, Kia swore to avenge him and quit her job at the clinic to join the WCU, where she enjoys a love/hate relationship with her boss Kurby Bagnold. She met and fell for a gentle but mysterious arithmancer named Eamonn Mullen, who helped her out of a tight spot and swept her off her feet.
However, early on in the year, a routine mission for the WCU was ambushed by a werewolf (who was, unbeknownst to Kia, Vincent Carrow) and Kia both sustained a shattered leg and watched two of her new teammates get torn apart. This really shook her and thanks to PTSD, she has been working desk jobs since. To make matters worse, she recently learned that her brother is expecting a child with one of his flings, Pandora Puddifoot, who happens to be a werewolf.
Currently
Kia is really struggling with who she is and what she believes in right now. Even though she joined the WCU to hunt down the werewolf that hurt her brother, she never felt that she hated them, but the recent attacks left her with severe PTSD and a newfound fear of them. However, she struggles with this fear and hatred because she wants to be there for her brother and his new child, whose mother is a werewolf. For this reason, she feels lost and confused right now.
To make matters worse, her budding relationship with Eamonn has seemed to stall. His unwillingness to share certain aspects of his life with her (like what he does for a living) and his secretiveness has seriously put a damper on their relationship. It has left Kia wondering if he just doesn't trust her or if she should really trust him, and whether being together is good for either of them.

- Note: Kia's boggart for most of her life and until recently was the fear of being on stage, naked and being mocked/laughed at. However, since the recent attack, her fear has become werewolves.
- Hobbies: Singing, camping, hiking, gardening, horseback riding, jogging, Boxing, swimming, cooking, reading, and sewing.
- Little Known Fact: Despite having stage fright, Kia enjoys going to muggle jazz clubs and singing during amateur night. For a while she played at a certain club under the name 'Miss Scarlet'. Apparently, with a lot of makeup and a wig on, Kia is able to battle her stage fright.
