Also known as Magical Measles, Praecantatio Deliquus means "missing magic. This completely new ailment appeared in London in December 2011. Sufferers are beset by flu-like symptoms and the sudden and comprehensive inability to perform magic of any kind. They temporarily lose all magical ability to the level of non-magical people like squibs and muggles.

The symptoms typically last two or three weeks. No cure has been discovered. Treatment includes comfort for the fever, fatigue, aches, runny nose, coughs, etc, and to avoid enchantments and magical potions.

It is highly contagious.

Origin

The ailment was carried to earth by the meteor that the Department of Mysteries intercepted, although this was not yet revealed to the public as of January 2012.
