Care of Magical Creatures is an Elective course that students can choose to begin taking upon reaching their Third Year at Hogwarts. Mostly taught outdoors, it teaches students how to interact with, harvest, raise, or otherwise protect themselves from magical creatures. More exotic animals (Thestrals, Dragons, and so on) appear at the choice of the professor, and usually only for older students.
It is the also one of the highest risk jobs of the professor's positions; CoMC professors can often be identified via their missing limbs, it's said.
Classroom
CoMC is usually taught outdoors, but a rather generic indoor classroom exists for use during bad weather or when a more workshop environment is called for.
Class Content
Dexter Pratt (Sept 08 - Oct 08)
An energetic and cheerful sort, Pratt was a dragontamer who taught briefly at the school. He did have a short temper at times.
Declan Ó Móráin (Nov 08 - Jun 09)
Ó Móráin was another young professor, noteable for rising in the ranks to Deptuy Headmaster despite his young age. Strict and formal, he favored Slytherin students.
