A group of (Mostly Slytherin) ne'erdowell students that carry out various, generally minor, criminal activities in Hogwarts. Some of these crimes consist of: Smuggling prohibited items, Selling prohibited potions, Selling answer keys to homework and tests, Betting on Quidditch, Running underground gambling and some basic strongarm work. There has been a few incarnations of the group since its founding.
The First Hogwarts Mafia
Originally started by Devlin Matthews in his 4th year (2005) alongside his close friends Alexander Snark and Gavin Snark.
Towards the end of the first Hogwarts Mafia, which ran from 2005 to mid 2009, the group was hired by the headmistress at the time, Analiza Snark, to sabotage the events planned by SAWS in hopes of forcing them to disband. The original group was mostly disbanded after Devlin was kicked out of school for his involvement with Theodora Kingstreet in hopes to keep from being implicated in his crimes, since he used the same codename for them as he did for his mafia work.
The original group used code names based on cards, as gambling was one of their preferred crimes. The members were divided into four groups that followed each "Jack" with no one knowing who the actual head was.
